The week of October 19th, 2015 was when both the boy and girl soccer teams had played games. On Monday, October 20, 2015 Coach Kozlowski has led the boys team to a win against Locust Valley. The boys came home with a 3-1 win. It was a great game to watch. Great job boys! Then on Tuesday and Thursday, Mr. Slack’s team played soccer games too. On Tuesday the game didn’t actually count because there were no refs, but they still did a good job playing. On Thursday they played at Garden City and unfortunately lost 3-1, but played well. Then on Thursday, Ms. Scaturro had led her team to a 3-1 win. The girls communicated well during the game. Overall, it was a good week for all three teams.
On Monday, October 19th, 2015 Coach Kozlowski had led his team to a 3-1 win against Locust Valley. All three goals were made by Symbouras. The boys had played in very cold weather. It was 46°F when they played. It was a very exciting game that they played against Locust Valley. Both teams were well matched.
Coach Slack’s team did not win their game on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 but their game turned into a scrimmage because no officials showed up. On Tuesday, they played Great Neck Middle School. Team Slack was well matched with Great Neck. Then on Thursday, Team Slack had traveled to Garden City and played. They lost 3-1, but they played their best and that’s all that matters.
On Thursday, October 22, 2015, Coach Scaturro had led her team to a 3-1 win against Herricks. Two goals were scored by Isabella Tedesco and one goal was scored by Jules Firouztale. However, the goalie on Herricks’ team played a great game. Team Scaturro’s first goal was scored by Isabella Tedesco. The first goal came from when the Herricks goalie tried to block Tedesc’s shot, but the ball went into the goal. Team Scaturro has three goalies; Anna Calmis, Jade Kessler, and Haley Fitzpatrick. Jade was in goal for the first quarter of the game, then Hayley went in for the second quarter and played goalie for the fourth and final quarter. Anna had played goalie for the third quarter. Herricks had scored their one goal in the fourth quarter towards the end of the quarter, but they didn’t score any other goals after that.
Last Week of October
The last week of October is the last practices of fall sports, which means the seasons are close to the end. The boys and the girls soccer teams have done a great job this season. It’s been a great fall season to start of the beginning of the North Shore Middle School year.
