My body yells in my head.
I feel like a piece of cooked bread.
I get up from my bed like a piece of lead,
And get ready for the day, head swimming with dread.
A walk to the freezer, I thought in my head,
Will surely cure this feeling of dread.
I open the door, to ice cream delight,
And find myself in a ray of sunlight.
I squint my eyes against the enemy,
My hand shields rays, protecting some parts of me,
The sun bores down on what’s left of me.
The freezer shows me the thing I want most,
One delicious scoop of ice cream!
