A player from far, far away is coming to blow your minds from his pure talent. Shohei Ohtani is coming from Japan to play in the Major League. There is one problem though. This superstar wants to be a pitcher and batter in every game. Right now in Japan, on days that Ohtani does not pitch he’s an outfielder or a designated hitter. He has batted well enough that they call him the Japanese Babe Ruth.

It will be challenging to play both positions. Teams have to care for starters so they do not get hurt. Lots of coaches have thought that it would be cool to be a two way superstar. He would be following in the footsteps of Babe Ruth, Martin Dihigo and Monte Ward. Wanting to be a two way superstar makes his choice of team difficult. Some just don’t have the option to have a two way superstar. In the article “Shohei  Ohanti Japan’s Two Way Star Aims To Take M.L.B Back To Its Future” it says it is amazing “To see someone with that kind of talent do what others have potentially not been able to do.”

Ohanti was the most valuable player in 2016. He batted .332 with 22 home runs. He pitched over 140 innings with a 1.86 ERA. However, this year he was injured. In Japan they play 143 games per year, but this year he played only 65 games. That did not stop him from trying to succeed. He hit  .332 with 8 home runs and a 3.20 ERA. In these two seasons, he has hit 40 home runs and 174 RBIs. He also pitched just under 300 innings. Basically, this player could potentially change the MLB forever.
