Have you ever seen someone who could solve a Rubik’s cube in 10 seconds? Well, if you haven’t, Parker is the one! Parker Trager is a student at North Shore Middle School. On some weekdays and many weekends, he has Rubik’s cube competitions. Students and teachers are both impressed by how lightning-fast his fingers move!
We asked Parker what inspired him to start solving Rubik’s Cubes, and he replied, “I was bored one day, and I read a world records book…it showed the world’s fastest Rubik’s Cube solvers…I wanted to beat the time and thought it would be easy.” Parker said. “So, I went to the store and bought one…so here I am now.” We also asked him if he has any weaknesses with Rubik’s Cube solving, and he said positively, “When I’m under pressure or in a competition, I do; it results in me being slower and that concludes in unwanted mistakes forming.” Finally, we asked him how he got so good, he said, ” I practiced 4-8 hours a day, and I find out the most effective ways to move my fingers, and when I go to competitions people give me feedback and I give them feedback, too.” He also says that he spends more than $500 on cubes!
Parker has a social media account on Instagram that you can follow him @pt_cuber_ and he has 1,700 followers! He also has a Snapchat account @ptcuber11. Parker is a 12-year-old master in Rubik’s cubing!
