In the world of allergies, there is one that almost everyone is allergic to: Homework. Teachers give you so much homework at a time, students barely finish it. Some teachers like giving homework because they want to see what their kids have learned. Ms.Donovan, an 8th grade English teacher, says some of her students are not handing in their homework on time probably because in their other classes they get a lot of homework too and its difficult to know how to organize work time.

Homework is also one of the most leading causes of stress. According to research by Stanford University, explained in an article by Clifton Parker, 56% of kids get stressed out from homework. Rebecca Grossman, a student, says that she gets a lot of homework and sometimes she doesn’t finish it in time. In the article, “Kids have three times too much homework, study finds; what’s the cost?”, CNN states that middle school students should only complete 60 minutes of homework. Some students say that homework takes only 30 minutes to 1 hour. Others say that it takes 1 hour to 2 hours. It depends on the teacher that you have. Personally, my color team doesn’t  get a lot of homework, but some of my friends do. They say it’s too much and their backpacks get to heavy.

Kids already have seven hours of school, sure there’s recess and lunch but that’s still about 5 hours of school. Homework adds on a couple of hours to your busy day. Being outside and getting fresh air is also very important, recess is about 30 minutes. Experts say you need at least 1 hour of being outside a day. Picture this you get home from a 7-hour day at school, you were only outside for 30 minutes, you have at least an hour of homework to do. You finish at around 4:30, with the day’s getting shorter you only have 10 minutes to play. That’s 40 minutes counting your recess. Schools should consider this and try to make a change for the better. Who’s with me!
