On Tuesday, November 20, North Shore Middle School will host its annual E3 day. E3 day, a school-wide day of community service, sets North Shore apart from other surrounding schools. Students take part in many activities, ranging from cleaning the shores of Sea Cliff Beach, to putting together Thanksgiving baskets for the less fortunate. E3 Day has been around for many years, and most students that have taken part have had positive reactions.
E3, which stands for Everyone Matters, Everyone Cares, Everyone Learns, is simply a name for all of North Shore Middle Schools’ values and goals. E3 Day is a day to carry out those values. It helps create a positive image for NSMS, and sets a good example for other schools to follow.
E3 Day takes place on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, a holiday centered around being grateful and giving back. On top of hosting E3 Day, NSMS has been collecting canned goods and other packaged foods.
“I’m really excited about E3 Day because it gives you a chance to give back,” says sixth grader Isabelle Lee. E3 Day is exciting and different from anything done in the elementary schools. Students are excited to help out, and make a difference in the world. Although an ideal world would have students volunteering regularly, E3 Day is a large step towards a better community and a better world.
