A storm of good will—a storm of freedom—of light. This is the storm of Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and how he skyrocketed himself to being one of the front-runners in field filled with seasoned professionals.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg woke one morning as the mayor of a small city of one-hundred-thousand in Indiana; the next, he wakes up as the savior of the Democratic caucus, the person promising to be the light at the end of the perilous quest. Mayor Pete Buttigieg has gone from nobody to a national figure, as, like the great leaders who have come before him, he promotes the one thing all Americans want…change. Change has nothing to do with political affiliation, as it is what everyone aspires to do and what everyone aspires to have. From the people that rowel at our political system to those who are indeed not satisfied with the current administration, they are all held together by an unlikely bond, change. While the Obama administration and the Trump administration are vastly different, they both won the Oval Office in a similar way, they won the most powerful and sought after political position in the world.

President Obama promised to bring hope and change to minority voters left behind by the system; President Trump promised to fulfill the hopes and dreams of those in mid-western states, who have been abandoned by the politicians in Washington D.C. However, Mayor Pete Buttigieg has perhaps pulled off the most impressive feat of all, as he has inspired change in today’s most powerful generation, millennial’s. He has promised to bring justice to the LGBTQ Community, as he himself understands the struggles being gay, given his homosexuality.

Currently, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders are the only people in the ahead of Mayor Pete Buttigieg in the New Hampshire primary. This is soon to change, as the Sanders and Biden campaigns have already set out at decimating the opponent, damaging their chances of winning the Democratic Nomination.Furthermore, the allegations against Joe Biden have been traced back to the Sanders campaign, creating a violent inter-party conflict, leaving a void in the democratic party to be filled by the leader of change, Mayor Pete.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg appeals to a generation of diverse individuals, who are aimed at making immense change throughout the world. He appeals to a generation of true liberals, who fit the definition former President, John F. Kennedy gave for liberalism:

“ [a liberal is] someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes             new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the                 people—their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and            their civil  liberties—someone who believes we can break through the stalemate              and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a               “Liberal”, then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal”.

Mayor Pete Promises to bring the change the people seek, he promises to like all successful politicians, bringing change to our aging system. Although he doesn’t boast much political experience, Mayor Pete has revitalized the city of South Bend Indiana, reviving it from its tragic economic downturn. For experience is just a nondescript number of years and hours, while change is a vibrant inspiration for people of all backgrounds. The 2022 election will not solely be centered around defeating the notorious President Trump, It will be about inspiring a new era of change, staying true to President John F. Kennedy’s definition of liberalism.

Mayor Pete promises not just to put out the flame in Washington, decimating the stalemate that has plagued our society for years on end, but he promises to prevent this fire from recurring, setting statues for diversity and unity in Washington–bringing light to all his fellow Americans.
