Recently, the North Shore Middle School Student Government went to the United Nations to learn more about their organization and sub-organizations and how the UN helps our world every day.
Before I talk about my experience at the United Nations, I would like to encourage all 6th, 7th, and future 8th graders to join the Student Government next year, as it’s super important to practice good leadership skills and be involved with your school and community.
The United Nations is an international organization that focuses on maintaining world peace and helping and supporting other countries, something the NSMS Student Government does on a much smaller scale.
Our tour guide discussed the similarities shared by the United Nations and other Governments, as the UN works to make the world better and safer for all citizens. If you are interested in world peace and leadership, the United Nations is definitely a spot to visit! For more information, visit https://www.un.org.
